Apple’s latest MacBook Air is here, featuring the company’s newest processor, the M4, in its bestselling laptop line. Available in 13-inch and 15-inch models, the updated Air includes a rare $100 price cut. The 13-inch model now starts at $999, and the 15-inch at $1,099. Both base models now come with 16GB of memory, up from 8GB in the previous M3 Air.
The M4-powered 13-inch MacBook Air maintains the sleek design introduced in 2022, with a thin and light build, comfortable keyboard, and spacious trackpad. It features Apple’s Liquid Retina display and Thunderbolt 4 ports, supporting up to two external displays. The new Center Stage webcam ensures users stay centered during video calls.
Under the hood, the M4 chip offers significant performance improvements, providing twice the performance of the M1 and 32 times that of Intel-based Airs in certain apps. The standard 16GB memory ensures smooth operation of AI apps, a priority for Apple. Battery life remains excellent, lasting all day even with external displays connected.
The only minor drawback is the USB-C ports being located on the left side, a minor inconvenience for some users. Overall, the MacBook Air remains a top choice for Mac lovers and those considering a switch from Windows, offering great portability, strong performance, and a $100 price reduction.
