Renewable energy company GE Vernova has signed an agreement with Amazon’s cloud services business, Amazon Web Services (AWS), to support the e-commerce giant’s data center expansion plans. The agreement aims to address rising global energy demand, enhance grid security and reliability, and reduce carbon emissions from electric power systems. GE Vernova will supply AWS with a range of solutions designed to electrify and reduce carbon emissions in data centers across North America, Europe, and Asia. In return, AWS will assist GE Vernova in advancing its cloud migration and digital innovation efforts by providing cloud services solutions. The collaboration reflects Big Tech’s investment in AI technology and infrastructure, alongside efforts to source cleaner energy to power these systems and reduce carbon emissions.
