Shell CEO Wael Sawan anticipates updates from the arbitration process with Venture Global in the coming months. Venture Global’s delay in transitioning to commercial operations, despite selling superchilled gas on the spot market years ago, has resulted in arbitration cases from major oil and gas producers like BP, Shell, Italy’s Edison, and Orlen and Repsol. Venture Global, which had a $58 billion market debut in January that did not meet expectations, started generating revenue in 2022 with its Calcasieu Pass facility. Sawan mentioned during Shell’s capital markets day in New York City that Venture Global has delivered 400 cargoes from its Calcasieu Pass project.
